The Ohio State University and Harding Hospitals have long occupied a distinguished place in the psychiatric care of Ohio. On November 1, 1999 the two hospitals merged into what is now known as OSU Harding Hospital, which is currently a part of The Ohio State University Medical Center. OSU Harding Hospital is the top provider of psychiatric services in central Ohio, providing 58 percent of inpatient psychiatric services in this region. We are continuing to concentrate on providing the highest quality of care, pursuing research, and educating the Psychiatrists of tomorrow.
Through our Inpatient Care Program, we provide care for adults who require intensive treatment in a safe and structured environment. We work with the patient, family and clinical team members to develop a treatment plan based on the unique needs of the individual. Treatment may include a combination of individual psychotherapy ("talk" therapy), pharmacotherapy (medication), formal patient/family education, family therapy or group therapy.
