Sharla Wells-Di Gregorio, PhD, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, Psychology & Internal Medicine, Director, Division of Health Psychology, Department of Psychiatry, Director, Psychooncology & Palliative Medicine Fellowship is a clinical health psychologist serving full-time with The Ohio State University Center for Palliative Care since 2005. She also serves on the Medical Center Ethics Committee, the Professionalism Environment Committee and the James Cancer Center Ambulatory Suicide Screening Taskforce as well as the Professional Practice Committee of the Ohio Psychological Association. She has provided inpatient consultation and outpatient psychotherapy to over 2500 Center for Palliative Care patients since starting with the Center for Palliative Care. She currently supervises two Psychooncology & Palliative Medicine Fellows, a unique training program preparing psychologists and psychiatrists to provide comprehensive symptom management and psychological care to patients living with chronic or terminal illness. Dr. Wells-De Gregorio's clinical and research interests include the diagnosis and treatment of psychological disorders in the context of advanced disease, neuro-immunologic mechanisms of symptom clusters and family communication and decision-making at the end of life.
